Where the Heliconia Grow is an acrylic painting by Trinidad-born, Pasadena-based artist Anya Cherrice. A woman sits at rest in a Caribbean garden — eyes closed, knees drawn in — surrounded by heliconia, pink ginger, monstera and banana leaves, with green hills and a gold sun rising behind her.

She isn't posed in front of the landscape. She's inside it. The garden crowds the edges of the frame and opens in the middle to the hills beyond, so you look through the leaves to reach the distance — the way it feels to sit somewhere long enough that the place stops being scenery and starts being home.

Bold tropical botanicals in acid greens, coral and gold. Good for a bedroom, a reading corner, a plant-filled room, or any wall that needs warmth without noise.

This 16 x 20 inches fine art is printed on museum-quality, acid-free Enhanced Matte Paper (189 g/m²) for rich color and lasting vibrancy. Ships rolled in a protective tube, ready to frame. Ships worldwide.

The original acrylic painting is also available — one of one, signed, with a hand-applied metallic gold sun that no print fully reproduces.
